Description
The desk mat edition of Bare Tree at Sunset has a rubber base.
Burnt orange and dusky red-brown fill the scene, with charcoal brown in the shadows and a pale amber glow at the horizon. Puddles and crumbled walls sit in the foreground, and the bare branches reach across flat, cracked ground. The figure stands at the right edge, facing the tree, so the eye moves across the picture from one side to the other.
Set beside a monitor in a home office, the picture gives a plain workspace one image with a clear subject. In a studio, it can sit on a shelf above a table, where the small dark form stands out against the sparse setting. The muted palette keeps the surface calm during a workday.
