Description
With three paper finishes, Black Cat with Red Disc is printed as a poster.
The scene shows a black cat with a golden yellow eye, its face placed right of center. Behind it, a large vermilion disc fills the left side, marked with splashes of red ink and small decorative glyphs. The cream ground carries diagonal streaks and a grainy, printed texture. This mixed-media look gives the piece a retro edge.
A cafe wall suits this piece because the vermilion backdrop is big enough to be seen across the room, and a seat facing it gives guests a clear image to study. In a studio, the grainy texture and ink splashes fit a space where people work with paint and paper. A game room also suits the playful mood and retro feel.
