Description
With a white ceramic body, Melting Face with Red Drips is printed on a mug.
One eye is yellow and the other is blue, and drips of crimson and rose run down to the bottom edge. The oil-painting look gives the surface a thick, smeared texture. Cool blue and mustard yellow stand out clearly against the muted grey behind the face.
A studio suits this piece well, since the red tendrils give makers a clear image to glance at during a workday. In a game room, the grotesque mood fits a space built around dark, unusual play, and the open teeth are easy to spot from a chair.
