Description
You can order Profile Silhouettes on Newspaper on a mouse pad, with a neoprene surface.
The scene centers on two stencil-like profile figures, cut from solid black, facing each other. Behind them lies a newspaper page with faded headlines at the top, and soft pale teal, peach and dusty pink washes show through the newsprint. Cream beige tones keep the palette soft. The collage look and the quiet, intimate feel carry a sense of older print.
A desk in a studio suits someone who works with cut paper and layered shapes, since layering is the method behind the piece. In a cafe, the view of two figures facing one another across a page fits a quiet, shared space. It works best where daily notes, sketches and printed drafts are handled.
