Description
The desk mat edition of Robots Watching a Crowded Hall has a rubber base.
The hall rises in tiers, with rows of people watching a dark metal giant at its center. A round opening in the ceiling sends down a shaft of pale gold light. The palette is warm brown, charcoal black and cream, rendered as digital illustration. Two black robots stand at a railing in the lower corners, looking on. The overall tone is quiet and weighty.
On a studio table, the scene gives long hours a steady subject to glance at between sketches. The centered giant anchors the view, which suits anyone who stares at a screen all day. In a game room, the tiered crowd and bright opening suit a surface shared by play and planning.
