Description
With three paper finishes, Woman Overlooking Waterfall Valley is printed as a poster.
The scene shows a red-haired woman seen from behind, wearing a tattered grey skirt, a leather belt and boots. Below her, waterfalls spill between cliffs topped with overgrown ruins and towers, and small figures gather on the grass in soft daylight. Turquoise, sage, warm beige, sky blue and rust brown fill the frame, with the sky across the top third.
A hallway suits this piece because a wide scene reads well from the far end of the corridor. The open landscape gives a bare surface something to look into as people pass. Its soft daylight suits a long space where people walk past slowly each day.
