Description
The desk mat edition of Woman Portrait with Freckles has a rubber base.
Her face sits near the top of the frame, with the hair falling past her shoulders. She wears a loose sage top with a V-neck, and soft light from one side brings out peach skin. Warm auburn strands catch the light against the deep gray-green background. The style is photoreal, so the freckles and eye color read clearly up close.
A studio desk suits this piece, since the steady gaze gives a calm point to glance at during long stretches of sketching. The reading nook also suits it, where the dark backdrop keeps the figure from pulling focus away from the page. Her wavy hair and freckles stay the main subject, so the eye settles there first.
