Description
The desk mat edition of Woman with Robotic Machinery has a rubber base.
Dark machinery and pale limbs fill the edges, while the face sits near the left of center. Red wires run over her hair and torso, and steel grey parts recede into the background. The palette is restrained, with charcoal black shadows and a futuristic mood. Overall the image reads as cold and unsettling.
A studio desk suits this piece, since the robotic figure and dim light give the work area a distinct character. Its portrait layout fits a narrow corner of the workspace, where the face stays in view during daily use. The contrast of white and crimson stays clear from a chair.
