Description
Floating Castle Island is made to order on a desk mat.
A large castle with turrets sits on a craggy island, held above a misty background. Ropes run from the rock’s underside, each ending in a small basket, above dark water and a steep cliff. The palette uses warm beige, muted ochre, charcoal and slate grey, with a moody, melancholic feel.
A study fits this upright piece well. The island and castle sit high in the frame, and the lower area fades toward the bottom edge. Its dim tones work for a desk that gets used through a workday, and it stays in a daily spot in the room.
